| APR. 19th - SIX - SIX - SIX MAY 17th & 18th - TWO MAN BEST BALL JUNE 21st - SIX PACK SHOOTOUT MODIFIED STABLEFORD AUG. 16th & 17th - CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP ECLECTIC TOURNAMENT SEPT. th & th - MEMBER-GUEST BESTBALL CHAPMAN / SCOTCHBALL - 2 MAN MODIFIED SHAMBLE SIX - SIX - SIX TWO MAN TEAMS APRIL 19th 1) Pick your own partners. This will be flighted, gross and net winners will be paid in each flight, and the maximum handicap difference between partners is seven. You can play with a partner if your handicaps have a greater difference than seven, however, the higher handicap player will be adjusted down to seven above his partner. 2) There are three formats for this event. The first six holes are scramble, the second six holes are bestball, and the last six holes are chapman. 3) Holes 1 through 6 are scramble. Regular scramble rules apply. The ball must be played within 6" of the selected balls' location, and must be in the same cut of grass. Each player must use two of his drives within those six holes. If a ball is played from a bunker, the bunker may be raked between shots, and before the first. 4) Holes 7 through 12 are bestball. Each player plays the hole with his own ball, and the best score of the two is the score that is counted. 5) Holes 13 through 18 are chapman. -Each player hits a tee shot. -The players switch balls, and play the other players ball for the second shots of the hole. -After the second shots are played, select one of the two balls, and play alternate shot for the remainder of the hole until the ball is holed. If player "A" hit the second shot that was selected, player "B" is the first to play the alternate shot portion of the hole. If player "B" hit the second shot that was selected, player "A" is the first to play the alternate shot portion. For scoring purposes, write down gross scores only. Your net score will be your gross score minus your "team handicap". Your team handicap is the total of you handicaps, divided by two. If player "A" is a 5, and player "B" is a 10, their team handicap is 7 ½ (5 + 10 = 15, 15 / 2 = 7 ½ ). Standard Scramble rules apply. Play each ball within 6" of the original location, and in the same cut of grass. If a ball is played from a bunker, the bunker may be raked between shots, and before the first shot. 4) HOLES 4-6 ARE BEST BALL. Each player plays the hole with their own ball. If player "B" hit the second shot that is selected, player "A" is the first to play alternate shot. 6) HOLES 10-12 ARE SHAMBLE. Both players hit a tee shot. Select one of the balls and from that point each player plays the hole with his own ball until both balls are holed. The lowest score of the two is the score that counts. 7) HOLES 13-15 ARE SCOTCHBALL. This is straight alternate shot. Select a player to his a tee shot on #13, and play alternate shot through hole #15. If player "A" holes the ball on #13, player "B" is to hit the tee shot on #14. Whoever holes the ball on #14 watches his partner hit the tee shot on #15. A penalty stroke is NOT a shot, but the shot causing the penalty is, of course, a shot. So, if player "A" hits the tee shot O.B. on #14, player "B" must reload and hit another tee shot on #14 (and of course he is hitting shot #3). If player "A" hits a ball they think "might be" O.B. on hole #14, player "B" must reload and announce he is hitting a provisional. If the original ball that "A" hit is found in bounds, player "B" plays the next shot and they move on. If the original ball that "A" hit is NOT found in bounds, since "B" hit the provisional, player "A" hits the next shot (which is shot #4) and they move on. The same applies for taking a penalty drop from a hazard or unplayable lie. The penalty is not a stroke, so continue playing alternate shot and add the penalty ('s) to the score at the end of the hole. 8) HOLES 16-18 ARE GROSS AGGREGATE. Each player plays the hole alone, and the total gross scores of the two are added together. If player "A" makes a 5, and player "B" makes a 4, the score put on the score card is a 9. For what it is worth, because of the Gross Aggregate portion, 84 is even par for the day. For scoring purposes, write down gross scores only. Your net score will be your gross score minus your "team handicap". Your team handicap is the total of your handicaps, divided by two. If player "A" is a 5, and player "B" is a 10, their team handicap is 7 ½ (5 + 10 = 15, 15 / 2 = 7 ½ ). If their gross score is 84, their net score is 77 ½. click here to go back to the top of the page JULY 23 - MODIFIED STABLEFORD INDIVIDUAL - FLIGHTED 1) This event is all individual. It is flighted and gross and net winners will be paid in each flight. 2) It is basically points, with the following point allocation: -DOUBLE EAGLE = +8 -EAGLE = +4 -BIRDIE = +2 -PAR = 0 -BOGIE = -1 -DOUBLE BOGIE = -2 -TRIPPLE BOGIE OR WORSE = -3 3) The maximum handicap allowed will be 36. If your cap is higher than that, you are welcome to play, but you will be given 36 pops. These scores will be posted. So, for scoring purposes please use the following procedure: -Two players on each scorecard. -Write down regular gross score on the first line (total strokes). -Write net points on the second line. (the committee will figure out gross points after your round is completed.) click here to go back to the top of the page CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHTED - GROSS & NET AUGUST 6th & 7th 36 HOLE INDIVIDUAL PLAY. 18 HOLES ON SATURDAY AND 18 HOLES ON SUNDAY. LOW GROSS SCORE FOR 36 HOLES WILL BE CLUB CHAMPION. IF THERE IS A TIE FOR LOW GROSS THERE WILL BE A SUDDEN DEATH PLAYOFF TO DETERMINE A WINNER. THE CLUB PRO WILL RUN THIS EVENT. PLAYERS WILL BE REPAIRED AFTER SATURDAY'S ROUND. YOU WILL HAVE TO CALL THE PRO SHOP SATURDAY EVENING FOR YOUR TEE TIMES ON SUNDAY. click here to go back to the top of the page JULY 14th & 15th ECLECTIC INDIVIDUAL BEST OF BOTH DAYS This event is individual, and flighted. Each player will have one 18 hole score used between the two days. Basically, over the two days you will play each hole two times, and use the best score of the two for the event. Example (Pat Bergs potential score cards over the two days.) There will be no tee prizes this year. If player "A" hit the second shot that was selected, player "B" is the first to play the alternate shot portion of the hole. If player "B" hit the second shot that was selected, player "A" is the first to play the alternate shot portion. 4) Back nine Scotchball. Scotchball is straight alternate shot. Player "A" hits a tee shot, player "B" hits the second shot, player "A" hits the third shot, etc.... A penalty stroke is not a shot. If a ball is hit O.B. or into a hazard, the other player hits the next shot and the penalty is added. If a provisional ball is needed, the other player hits the provisional, and if the first ball is found in bounds, proceed normally as if the provisional was not hit. If the first ball is not found in bounds, proceed with the provisional. There is one change in format for this Scotchball than we have done in the past. Assign a player to tee off on even holes, and the other to tee off on odd holes and play alternate shot from that point. It makes no difference who holed out on the previous hole. One player tees off on 11, 13, 15, and 17. The other player tees off on 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18. This is the way it is done in the Ryder Cup, so I assume that is the appropriate way. If their gross score is 72, their net score is 64 ½. click here to go back to the top of the page NOV. 5th MODIFIED SHAMBLE 1) This is a team event, and the teams will be assigned by the committee. 2) There is a different format on the front and back nines. a) Front nine: Each player tees off on every hole. Choose a ball and each player plays the remainder of the hole with their own ball. Each team is required to use one drive from each player on the front nine. b) Back nine: The players on each team will take turns hitting tee shots on sequential holes. From the spot that ball finishes, the remainder of the team (including the player that hit the tee shot) will play the hole with their individual balls. The four man will tee off on 10, three man on 11, two man on 12, and one man on 13. Starting over on 14 with the four man, followed by the three man on 15, two man on 16, and one man on 17.
